Mentoring Program
The ASciNA Mentoring Program (AMP) is generously supported by the Alumni Club of the Medical University of Vienna, the Graz University of Technology (TU Graz), the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), the Medical University of Innsbruck, the University of Vienna, and the Medical University of Graz.
This program seeks to develop a mentoring framework, where established Austrian scientists/scholars and professionals provide guidance, experience and knowledge to early career researchers from Austria.
Mentoring Application
The aim of the AMP is to help young researchers with their career planning during their (at least one-year-long) stay in North America (USA, Canada, Mexiko). Mentees will be matched with an Austrian mentor, who is an established researcher in their field and institution in North America. Do feel free to contact us if you are interested in the program!
The application deadline for the next mentoring period starting September 2023, is May 15, 2023.
Eligible Candidates
By definition „mentees“ are Austrian scientists at the beginning of their scientific career, who are already doing a PhD or PostDoc in North America when the AMP starts in September 2023, and will stay at least one year. Mentees are required to be members of ASciNA.
- Period of mentoring relationship: September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024
- Application deadline is May 15, 2023
Financial Support
Four partners of ASciNA generously support the mentoring program financially. So, mentees and mentors can meet in person, mentees can travel to conferences, or take career building steps such as scientific courses.
The Alumni Club of the Medical University of Vienna is going to support two mentoring pairs financially, when the mentee is an Alumni of the Medical University of Vienna and a member of the Alumni Club.
The Alumni Club of the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) is supporting three pairs, when the mentees are members of their Alumni Club.
As a third sponsor, the Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) will support one mentoring team.
Our fourth supporter is the Medical University of Innsbruck, who will facilitate two mentoring pairs.
Our fifth sponsor, the University of Vienna is sponsor of one mentoring pair.
And last but not least, the Medical University of Graz also supports one mentoring team.
How To Apply
If you are interested in becoming a mentee please contact Beatrix Aigner-Köfinger (administration) via mentoringprogram [@] ascina.at. We kindly ask young researchers and future mentees to fill out this mentee data form and attach also a short CV.
