Erasmus+
Erasmus + is the EU Programme for education, training, youth and sport, which supports the educational, professional and personal development of people in Europe and beyond, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, jobs and social cohesion and to strengthening European identity.
In addition to mobility, Erasmus + also supports cooperation projects and policy development, and is split into the following Actions:

Key Action 1: Learning Mobility
This action covers the mobility side of the Programme, in particular the mobility of higher education students and staff, but also of school and vocational training learners and staff as well as sport coaches and staff. It also covers language learning opportunities, including those supporting mobility activities.
KA 1 applications and projects are managed by the International Office.

Key Action 2: Cooperation among organisations and institutions
This action aims to foster cooperation and partnerships among organisations and institutions, and with businesses through:
- Partnerships for cooperation and exchanges of practices, including small-scale partnerships to foster a wider and more inclusive access to the Programme;
- Partnerships for Innovation;
- Capacity building in the field of Youth;
- Not for profit sport events aiming at further developing the European dimension of sport.

Key Action 3: Support to policy development and cooperation
This action aims to provide support to policy cooperation at European Union level through the preparation and implementation of general and sector-specific European policy agenda strategies in education, youth and sport. This action is currently supported:

Jean Monnet actions
The Erasmus + Programme also supports teaching, learning, research and debates on European integration matters through:
- Jean Monnet action in the field of higher education;
- Jean Monnet action in other fields of education and training.
Cross-cutting Priorities in the 2021 Programme:
Cross-cutting priorities are an essential aspect of the Erasmus+ Programme and must be at least partially addressed in each funding application. These priorities are updated annually, and those for 2021 are:
- Inclusion and Diversity;
- Digital Transformation;
- Environment and fight against climate change;
- Participation in democratic life.

Please note that all actions except for KA1 are managed by the DLE FSNF if the funding volume for the University of Vienna is ≥ 100.000 Euro, as they will need authorisation from the Rectorate.
If the funding volume is < 100.000 Euro, please contact Esther Schmidt as the Dean/Head (or Vice-Dean/Vice-Head) should authorise your project application.
